On the day of Brexit, our Toastmasters responded with „consolidation“ as the word of the day and a united cry of „I love Europe!“
Time, Space, Unity, and the Peaceful Transition of Power were all on the speakers’ agenda tonight. Ruth explored both our obsession with time and our use of time. Daniela launched us into Space. She gave us the current status of space exploration, a look into the future of space travel, and the tricky legal business of space utilization. It was Armin who pulled us out of our seats with his heartfelt appeal to stay in the Union – the European Union.
To mark this last meeting of the 2015-2016 Toastmasters year, Enthusiasm Ribbons were awarded to Board Members – Mariana, Florian, Szilvia, and Bertrand. Center Berlin Toastmasters grew from 12 members in June 2015 to 22 members in October 2015 to 34 members in June 2016. This rocket growth was the result of having a welcoming environment, quality meetings, and great follow-up. Our four special events attracted Toastmasters from clubs throughout Berlin and non-Toastmasters from the general community. By paying conscious attention to the larger community, we developed a reputation for professionalism and outreach.
